Cat Vulcano was founded in 2008 in the City of Zürich, Switzerland. It began when Igor Podladtchikov and Dr. Floyd (Igor's Psychiatrist) began experimenting with Feline Genetics, Vulcanology and Absinthe after a long night of rap battles in Latin. The Result was an unstoppable beast, the likes of which Switzerland had never seen. After pillaging the city and countryside- hissing Lava into the face of the local music scene- the beast set it's sights on Tokyo, Japan, where it could be with it’s own kind; however, being geographically illiterate (coutesy of the absinth), the abomination instead stumbled west, into the sleepy city of Denver, Colorado, roughly 8,000 miles away from it's target (by kayak). It soon realized its mistake, but has decided it quite likes it here. Being the only real vulcano in town was hard at first, but it loves Denver’s large cat population and proximity to his hero, The Yellowstone Caldera.

Cat Vulcano has gone through a number of evolutions, as most genetic experiments do, currently it consists of founder and frontman Igor Podladtchikov (Vocals and Guitar), and Elza Joshua Breen (Excessive Low End and Spaceship Noises). Our influences primarily consist of Radiohead, Pixies, Nirvana, Queens of the Stone Age and Muse.
